Seal Walk Adventure with Sea N Shore
Discover the magic of Salcombe’s coastline and meet its most charming residents — the seals!
Sea N Shore is delighted to offer guests an unforgettable experience: a guided Seal Walk with our founder and marine enthusiast, Ali Jones.
What to Expect
Join Ali on an inspiring 2-hour guided coastal walk to visit a local seal colony in their natural habitat. We’ll take a scenic route along the rugged South Devon coast, arriving at a secluded haul-out spot where seals rest and play at low tide.
Keep your eyes peeled — we sometimes spot bluefin tuna leaping offshore!
The route follows a coastal footpath with a few rocky sections and gentle climbs, but it’s suitable for all ages and abilities. We’ll always go at a pace that suits the group.
Meet Your Guide — Ali Jones
Ali is the passionate owner of Sea N Shore, a Marine Mammal Medic and part of Europe’s Large Whale Disentanglement Team.
In the summer, you’ll find her skippering Big Red, her iconic RIB, taking guests out to encounter seals, dolphins, and tuna.
During autumn, winter, and spring, she swaps the boat for the boots — sharing her deep knowledge of our marine wildlife with warmth, humour, and infectious enthusiasm.
Starting Point
We begin our adventure at the Start Point Lighthouse car park, approximately a 45-minute drive from Salcombe. TQ7 2ET.

Here’s one of our recent favourites:
I went on the seal walk with Ali, along with my extended family. It was such a joyous experience. Ali was so knowledgeable about the seals and she was able to tell us lots of interesting facts about them and how to keep them safe. It was such a pleasant experience to drink hot chocolate and eat doughnuts whilst peering at the seals through Ali’s powerful binoculars. After that we moved on and had the unique experience of watching tunafish jumping out of the water and feeding. It was exhilarating. As well as telling us so much about marine life, Ali also told us about the history of the coastline and had us all captivated. The walk itself was just the right challenge and we had been prepped to wrap up warm and wear sturdy shoes- as there are some uneven parts. The views were stunning, and Ali was kind enough to take lots of family photos for us. I would highly recommend this experience and anything else Ali’s company offers.
