Sea N Shore in Salcombe has an unrivalled passion for looking after all our customers. Safety is always our number one customer as we have an exemplary record and really do our best to look after you while you are with us.
All our skippers and instructors are friends who look after each other and enjoy regularly getting together for wakeboarding and sundowners.
Each of our skippers has to be qualified as an RYA advanced powerboat driver with MCA commercial endorsement. This means they have proved themselves physically and mentally fit to skipper our ribs and look after all our lovely customers.
All our skippers also have RYA powerboat instructor qualification, with first aid, marine radio licence as standard but then are handpicked to be able to entertain and really look after your needs.
Sea N Shore’s RYA courses include RYA Powerboat courses 1 and 2, RYA Intermediate powerboat course, RYA Advanced powerboat course, RYA Tender Operators Course, plus own boat private tuition.

There is a lot to take in over 2 days, we manage this with a structured lesson plan on and off the water. Our customers are always commenting at the end of the two days that they can’t believe we have covered so much in such a short amount of time and how it has all been remembered. We hope it is as much fun for them as it is for us to help empower the skills necessary to be a competent helm and to then take that out onto the water for future adventures.
Once you have your RYA powerboat 2 course you can rent our 6meter, 8 man rib out for the day, it’s called Bareboat Charter. You are then covered to go around the coast on your own.
Our theory courses are regularly run in Salcombe include; RYA First Aid, RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate, RYA Day Skipper, RYA Yacht Master, RYA Professional Practices and Responsibilities Course.
Our most popular rib activity we offer on a daily basis is our Rib Ride 75 mins from Salcombe. You can enjoy and embrace safety with a fast trip around the coast seeing wrecks, Start Point Lighthouse, seals and lots of marine wildlife. Sometimes dolphins, sometimes whales, they are wild, nothing guaranteed. We provide you with sailor grade full waterproofs and full lifejackets.
Our family day package offers families who we are very honoured to call friends return year after year to enjoy private skippered rib charter days wakeboarding, banana riding, seal and dolphin spotting, estuary cruises, harbour hampers, and just relaxing in a sheltered bay for a spot of swimming or sun bathing. We provide all the wetsuits and buoyancy aids and of course chocolate.
Hens and Stags regularly join us for group activities. We offer Rib Coasteering from Salcombe and Coasteering from Start Point. Banana Riding for large groups using our two commercially coded ribs, this is one of our most popular activities. Everyone enjoys the games and shenanigans that ensue too. We love hearing the wish lists from the entire group and try our best to leave everyone feeling exhilarated and looked after. Our new and improved Salcombe Water Treasure hunt has proved really popular with stags and hens and businesses wanting fun and challenge on the water. Our challenge as skippers is not to join in and give you all the clues as we get really excited and want to join in. The last group of hens and stags said they’d remember the day forever and will dine out on the memories as the years go on.
Corporate team building is always such fun to set up. Watching the quiet team members turn out to be the loudest and for the bosses to feel equal and get to know their employees in such a fun and exciting way. The water treasure hunts and banana riding keeps everyone busy and working with local hotels and restaurants we can offer a full service. Everyone is different and we love the diversity.
